Be Blissful. Enjoy pure bliss as you snowshoe through a blanket of sparkling white snow on the Ice Age National Scenic Trail at Hartman Creek State Park, Portage and Waupaca County.

Be Community. Warm your heart and bring your tribe. Come ready to meet new friends and deepen friendship with those you’ve known a long time.

Winter hiking keeps you connected to the simple things in life: health and vigor; home and community.

Meet your hiking cohorts at the Hartman Lake Warming Shelter at the state park, N2480 Hartman Creek Road, Waupaca. Registration and coffee will open at 9:30 a.m. A bus will transport you to the start of you the 2.2-mile hike. A leisurely pace will be set. Please dress for the weather. You may need Yak-Traks or snowshoes ... who knows quite yet. If you don't have a pair of snowshoes or are uncomfortable using them, we will have a pair for you to borrow along with experts there to help get you on your way.

A post-hike bonfire and indoor shelter will warm you up along with a meal of homemade soup, bread, refreshments and s'mores provided by REI, the Waupaca and Portage County Chapter of the Ice Age Trail Alliance and Gypsy Moon Catering from Amhurst. Food allergies will be accommodated.

Limit: 100 women
